KWAZAKHELE-BASED side AmaUnits registered an emphatic 3-1 victory over the gallant Sparks Masters during their SAFA Nelson Mandela Bay Masters Association League clash at Chevrolet Stadium in New Brighton on Sunday.
Following their recent 1-0 loss to PE All Stars, AmaUnits showed that they had rectified the errors that cost them a spot in the semi-finals.
AmaUnits’ sure-footed striker, Luzuko Dzuyi Hambaze, found the back of the net. The score line was 1-0 with AmaUnits leading. Hambaze finished his brace after he scored a spectacular goal to send the spectators into raptures.
However Sparks did not give in and their never-say-die spirit kept them searching for their opening goal. Eventually their striker, Khaya Kaizer Quntu, registered a world-class goal under his belt that decreased Sparks Masters’ deficit to 2-1.
AmaUnits’ third goal, which was scored by Khaya Xate, cancelled the joy of Motherwell side’s supporters and made the final score 3-1.
In another game, Young Pirates accumulated three maximum league points after they overcame PE Eleven Masters 1-0 in their entertaining clash.
Winners shared a 1-1 draw with New Brighton, while Eleven Attackers thumped Volkswagen Masters 3-1 with Thando Matinyane scoring a brace and Monde Tsoko scoring the other goal.
Veeplaas and Villagers won on soft-points over Soweto and Joe Slovo respectively.
PE All Stars hammered Zwide Masters 4-0 in their one-sided game.
