City Lads Ladies’ FC are football bosses

CITY Lads Ladies’ FC showed clearly that they are football bosses when they handed a 4-2 defeat to the tough Sophakama Ladies in their own backyard, Zwide Stadium, during their Sasol Ladies Soccer League game on Saturday.

Sophakama Ladies drew first blood after their experienced striker, Anelisa Nyobo, banged in the opening goal. Lads went on searching for their opening goal, which was scored by their goal poacher, Nwabisa Nwaiza Kolisi.

The home side fought relentlessly, but made a lot of mistakes. The visiting side doubled their lead to 2-1 following a top-notch goal that was scored by Nosiphiwo Shuffle Bottoman.

The New Brighton side’s third goal came courtesy of Nolubabalo Steve Mbangu. Lads Ladies went to the break leading 3-1 with the home side missing some golden opportunities.

As the teams returned from the half-time break, it seemed as though the home side’s head coach had given them a pep talk with the aim of boosting their performance.

Nomathamsanqa Maqhutyana scored the last of Sophakama Ladies’ goals to give their supporters hope of winning the contest.

Lads Ladies silenced the home side supporters after Kolisi registered her second goal that helped her side to claim a well-deserved 4-2 victory.
