Full weekend of action-packed activities

DIARISE the PE Express First Choice Kids & Baby Expo for the spring school holidays from Friday, October 5.

Visitors to the Eastern Cape’s biggest and best family expo at the Boardwalk, next month, can look forward to a number of new and existing exhibitors launching and promoting products with exclusive price offers and giveaways so you can bank on great savings and the added convenience of a multitude of stores all under one roof.

In celebration of this year’s ‘cause we love them’ expo theme, event director, Linda Harwood, promises visitors a full weekend of action-packed activities for kids and a wide range of stands for parents to visit while the kids have fun.

In addition, the expo care zone will be hosting Uviwe Child & Youth Services to assist their worthy fundraising campaign for their five early childhood development centres.

Children will receive a warm welcome, with a First Choice flavoured Milki, while parents will receive a shopper bag with a free family magazine: either Living and Loving, Essentials, Food & Home, SA Garden & Home or Your Family magazine.

All visitors will receive an expo day-pass wristband for multi-access to the Expo and the Boardwalk complex.

This year a fun kid’s modelling competition will be presented, the First Choice Miss/Mr Junior Expo, for kids aged 3 to 6 and 7 to 12.

The competition, which will be hosted by Extreme Models, will be held at 14:00 on Saturday with a range of great prizes to be won.

Doors will open on Friday, October 5, at 09:00 with all day free indoor entertainment, from shopping to fashion shows, sand art, free face painting, climbing walls, Windsor Kids Play Park, biking, and action cricket fun.

There is also a delicious café rest area to rest weary feet and tantalize taste buds. The Café area will host the fun Kids Expo Selfie Booth with quirky props and a chance to meet and take a photo with Anna and Elsa of frozen, First Choice’s Milki Moo, Barbie and the ever-popular Barney.

The expo is proud to once again be partnered with our favourite milk brand – First Choice, who headline the First Choice All Day Action Stage with their popular Smoothie competition.

The Boardwalk will also be supplying the ingredients from yoghurts and custards to delectable sprinkles and fruits. One of their chefs will have the hard task of judging the children’s delicious smoothie creations and First Choice are supplying bumper hamper prizes to make it worth their while.

All day stage programme includes daily puppet shows, reptile shows by Jeru of Animals in Wonderland, fashions shows and more!

Parents can also look forward to a comfortable day out with family-friendly features at the expo, such as:

  • Baby changing room and a private breast-feeding area
  • Wheelchair and pram assistance
  • Delicious lunch and snack options in the Expo Café
  • Loads of free fun for children, so that parents can comfortably shop around.

Entrance is R50 for adults and R25 for kids and pensioners, with babies under 12 months attending for free.

Tickets can be pre-bought online via www.westway.co.za and will be sold at the entrance to the expo on the weekend.

An exciting all-day 09:00 to 18:00 on Friday, September 5 and Saturday, September 6, 09:00 to 17:00 on the Sunday entertainment programme is planned for all three days.
