On the Dot shines brightly at Diamond Awards

ON the Dot, the distributution company responsible for the distributution of the Express papers, recently held their yearly Diamond Awards evening in Johannesburg.

It has become a tradition that the staff, including divisions and even contractors, receive recognition throughout the year for exceptional work through nominations by colleagues or clients.

The gala event is held annually and this year there were more than 380 nominations in the 16 different catagories.  The competition was tough but the Eastern Cape showed that they will always be a force to be reckoned with and brought a total of six diamonds back to the Eastern Cape. Chris van Huyssteen, who has been looking after subscribers in the Eastern Cape and recently also joined the rest of the distribution team, won the employee of the year: operations award.

Other awards went to Angelique van Vuuren, for employee of the year: administration and Anele Sibembe, from informal trade in Mthatha, who received the runner-up award for customer service champion.

The distribution team also received the award for the distribution branch of the year and Riaan Schoeman, the warehouse manager, received the runner-up award for the warehouse branch of the year.

The award for the combined distribution and warehouse team of the year was also won by the On the Dot team in Port Elizabeth.
