THE Ed-U City Campus in Port Elizabeth have launched the Microsoft Imagine Academy programme on campus earlier this month.
Ed-U City Campus joins more than 16 000 Microsoft Imagine Academies around the world with the aim of providing learners and students with a hands-on experience using the latest technology to gain a competitive edge in today’s job market or the next step in their academics.
E-Square Education Campus offers education from Grade R to matric as well as tertiary opportunities.
Learners can start their career in Grade R and finish with a diploma or degree at the tertiary campus.
The internationally recognised Microsoft Imagine Academy Office programmes are being offered from their new computer lab, on E-Square Education Campus.
“We’re committed to providing our learners and students with the most up-to-date knowledge and skills so they can pursue higher education, and secure jobs that contribute to the economy and their communities,” said Lilian Niemann, CEO of E-Square Education Campus.
Niemann is the driving force behind the school, which was established in 1994.
“Our membership in the Microsoft Imagine Academy programme enables us to provide a road map to technology proficiency and industry-recognised Microsoft certification credentials, keeping pace with what today’s employers are looking for and setting our students up for future success.”
Microsoft Imagine Academy will provide a convenient and flexible learning environment and offers a comprehensive programme that supports ongoing technology education for students, teachers and other education professionals spanning computer basics to high-level programming, along with cloud and infrastructure management using Microsoft technologies.
Roxanne Stark, deputy principal of Ed-U College, and Rushdien Lagardien, deputy principal of Saturday school, have both qualified as Microsoft Innovative Educator (MIE) experts. Stark will be managing the Microsoft Certiport Centre as well as the Imagine Academy for learners and students at the E-Square Education Campus.
Ed-U College achieved a 79% pass rate for the Grade 12 class of 2018 and has educated 38 342 learners and students, 20 549 full-time and 17 793 part-time, over the past 25 years.
All past learners, students and parents in either Ed-U College, Ed-U City Campus, Ed-U Options Academy and private/Saturday schools are invited to attend the campus’s 25 year celebrations, which will launch with a founders’ day function during the first week in March.
