Rain fails to dampen high scoring matches

DESPITE the welcome rain disrupting quite a few fixtures, the PELFA Old Buck Gin League teams continued showing off their skills last week.

St Albans thrashed African Leopards 10-1 in their league encounter.

St Albans netted six goals before half-time and netted a further four goals in the second half.

Fairview Rovers overcame PE City 5-1 in City’s own backyard. Sharief Mamoojee had Rovers up 1-0 at half-time with a penalty.

In the second half, Shahied Lottering, Nathan Jones and Sharief Mamoojee with a brace ensured Rovers went home with the three maximum points.

Kuyga Masters got the better of Priory 4-1.

Isheunesu Mazvarira opened the scoring for Kuyga in the first half.

Thanduxolo Sinqe, Andile Singaphi and Mzikayise Jacob scored for Kuyga in the second half.

Log leaders Callies whipped Westpark 7-0 in their match. Craven Maree scored first, followed by goals from Karl Pereira and Jerome Cupido to end the first half 4-0. Second half goal scorers included Lawton de Klerk and Kieron August, who scored from the penalty spot.
