RELEGATION-THREATENED Real Strikers kept their hopes of remaining in the Motherwell Football Association (MOFA) Premier League alive, when they defeated Manchester United 3-2 at Motherwell NU 9 Stadium on Sunday.
Strikers came with one thing on their mind – to collect three points to avoid a drop into the MOFA First Division League next season.
Anele Ngqunge came up with Strikers’ opening goal. One of Manchester’s defenders, Zolisa Maqwelana, beat his own goalkeeper, Unathi Rasana, scoring an own goal.
Manchester replied with a goal, which was scored by Mnoneleli Mayeye Zitho, to decrease his side’s deficit to 2-1.
Olwethu Chukwu Mzizana scored Manchester’s equalising goal.
Manchester’s supporters’ joy was cancelled out after Mandilakhe George scored a cracker from a set piece that gave Strikers a hard-fought 3-2 victory.
