THE Animal Welfare Society (AWS) PE is excited to host its first-ever charity golf day with Tavcor Volkswagen Port Elizabeth on Friday, August 31.
AWS PE provides assistance to the homeless, stray, neglected, abandoned, unwanted, geriatric, abused, sick and injured animals living in Nelson Mandela Bay.
At any given time, they care for more than 150 animals.
The golf day is to raise the funds necessary to keep the NPO going.
Last year, their resident vet sterilised 769 AWS PE cats and dogs, as well as 275 animals from the local township community. This excludes the number of means test patients he had.
AWS PE also coordinated a mass Spay-a-thon in Motherwell earlier this year as part of a mayoral resolution. The event made history with the 215 dogs that were sterilised on the day.
They have invited avid golfers to team up and compete in the golf day event. The day promises to be great fun for everyone.
The links course provides participants with a challenge and there will be several on-course competitions, mulligans for sale and lucky draw raffles to ensure that every participant shares in the fun.
The Animal Welfare Golf Day, driven by Tavcor Volkswagen, will take place at the Humewood Golf Club on Friday, August 31.
The cost is R1 500 per four ball or R375 per player and includes green fees (18-hole course) and a lucky draw prize raffle ticket. For bookings and info contact Cynthea at 083 271 9028.
