Operation Squeeze yielded various successes on Thursday 26 July, police say. A team executed various actions between 06:00 and 14:00, including stop-and-searches. Eight bags of dagga, five plastic bags containing cocaine and an ecstasy tablet were seized in Kitchner Road. The team searched a house and seized dagga plants. Officers also surprised drug peddlers along Voortrekker Road on the Salt River bridge and arrested a 24-year-old woman for possession of heroin. Police also focused on confiscating dangerous weapons. A suspect was arrested in Railway Road for possession of a sharp object.

Kensington: Led by station commander Lieutenant-Colonel Fanie Scanlen, a team of officers responded to information received about a stolen motorbike and arrested a 33-year-old suspect on Thursday 26 July. When police arrived at the scene at about 07:45, two men ran into the property. The motorbike was parked on the pavement in front of the house. On searching the premises, police found more stolen goods and linked the items to a business burglary that had taken place the previous evening.

Kensington: Police arrested 15 suspects for various crimes during between Sunday 22 and Thursday 26 July. The offences ranged from rape, domestic violence and assault to drug possession, housebreaking and theft, and malicious damage to property. Police also conducted a second-hand goods operation. targeting dealers for compliance inspections.

Kensington: Police caught four copper cable theft suspects red-handed on Wednesday 25 July. The incident took place in the early hours of the morning as officers of the Cable Theft Unit visited a hotspot in 18th Avenue. Dressed in civilian clothing and driving an unmarked vehicle, the officers pounced on four suspects who were attempting to cut cable in the trenches of a field. Officers caught the men in possession of spades and hacksaws, digging trenches next to the naval base, and arrested them. Anyone with information regarding cable theft or suspicious activity is asked to contact the police immediately on 112 from a cellphone or 10111 from a landline.

Kensington: Police have confirmed that a 37-year-old man was shot and wounded in his shoulder in Typhoon Street on Tuesday 24 July at about 12:30. Four men shot out of a silver VW Polo. One suspect is known but is still at large. A case of attempted murder is under investigation and anyone with any information is asked to contact Warrant Officer Smart on 021 594 7034 or 0860 10 111.

Factreton: Police arrested two suspects and seized nine rounds of live ammunition on Tuesday 24 July. This came after officers responded to a shooting in Albacore Street at about 10:00. On arrival, residents informed the police that the suspects who had fired the shots had run into a house in Albacore Street. Officers entered the house and found a 20-year-old man hiding under the kitchen sink and a woman in the house. On searching the house, they found nine live 9mm rounds and arrested both suspects.
