Laughing to the UK

A fundraiser to assist a local boy in making his soccer dreams a reality, had residents in stitches.

Funnie Plain, hosted by the Jacobs family in aid of their son, Calvin’s trip, was held over the weekend of Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 August in a bid to raise funds for the trip taking place later this month.

The event, held at the Spine Road High School hall featured host Carl Weber, backed up by comedians Reagen Allen, Altaaf Sayed with headliner Dalin Oliver.

Calvin (15) has enjoyed much success in his short time playing and hopes to raise enough funds to attend the trials.

He has played for teams in Grassy Park and Strandfontein and was selected for the Bolton Wanderers International Football Programme taking place in Bolton in the UK, starting this month, representing the SimSport international team.
