About 1000 children from Vrygrond and Overcome Heights had a great party filled with fun activities, treats, sandwiches, watermelon and gifts galore on Tuesday 18 December. Where Rainbows Meet organised the event and they also had Father Christmas. As the children chanted for him, he appeared, walking through the crowd of children, much to their delight. The day started with the handing over of a gift to each child, along with a party pack and a photo with Father Christmas.
Kyle Cupido, Where Rainbows Meet project manager, says it was great to see the joy and excitement on the children’s faces.
“They were all hyped up from the start, not knowing what to expect, except that they were to receive a gift. Christmas isn’t Christmas without giving and we believe we have to share the love, especially with the less fortunate, as they might not experience a real Christmas in their own homes. We continue to make the difference where we can and we promise to continue to do what we do best. Thank you to everyone for all the support. Together we can make a bigger difference.”
