Saving water is punishing residents

At the beginning of 2018 after many discussions and complaints it was agreed that water rates would be increased instead of imposing a levy.

Therefore the charges were increased in March from R4.00 +VAT to R26.50+VAT which is more than six times the original tariff. Now five months later every household is being slapped with a fixed charge which we were assured would not happen because the cost of water was being increased exponentially. In addition, every household lost 6000F per month which was free until July 2017. Now we have to pay for every liter we use. Reducing and saving water is getting us nowhere except punishment.
