Sport Coaching Summit held at Maties

Coaches, teachers, sport organisers and students are invited to the Sport Coaching Summit on Friday 14 and Saturday 15 September at Stellenbosch University.

Over the two days speakers will address issues such as how to get a player ready on the day of the game, supplements, fundamental skills development, training load monitoring in an amateur club setting, professionalism versus amateurism, talent development, and the human behind the player.

Dr Wilbur Kraak, lecturer at the Department of Sport Science at Maties, is the organiser of the summit.

Among the guest speakers that will address the gathering will be Eugene Eloff, former coach of Boland, Debbie Skinstadt and Dr Amanda Claasen-Smithers.

Several exhibitors will be in attendance to introduce their products and give advice on how to use them.

The summit will be opened by Anroux Marais, provincial minister of sport and culture.

This summit is a must for all coaches and the cost is R700 for the two days. The cost includes a summit bag, all refreshments, the exhibition and a golf shirt.
