Suspect found at harbour

A speedy response by the Muizenberg police and a security company led to the arrest of a wanted 29-year-old suspect. He was arrested while sleeping at Kalk Bay harbour.

The suspect was searched and found to be in possession of a gas pistol, which had remarkable resemblance to a Taurus 9mm pistol. He was arrested and detained on charges of being in possession of an imitation firearm with the intent to commit a crime.

He was also wanted on a charge of housebreaking and theft, as well as theft of a motor vehicle case, which occurred in Kalk Bay last week, Captain Stephen Knapp, spokesperson for Muizenberg police, says.
