Bosch Home Appliances donated 1200F of water to destitute animals in collaboration with the Water for Paws organisation.
The donation was handed over to the Philippi Animal Welfare Society (AWS) on Thursday 2 August as part of Bosch’s national pledge to bring relief to animal shelters.
With drought taking its toll on Cape Town areas over the past few months, Water for Paws in collaboration with Bosch started an initiative that will see to it that around 1000 animals receive water.
“The silver lining surrounding the all too infrequent clouds (until recently) is that such disasters galvanise us as a nation and it has been so heart-warming to see South Africans from all walks of life pulling together in the true spirit of Ubuntu.
“We cannot win this battle alone,” says Allan Perrins, resource development officer and spokesperson for AWS.
Bosch Home Appliances, one of the kitchen appliance companies grouped under the BSH Hausgeräte GmbH umbrella, launched a water pledge initiative earlier this year challenging the social media community to pledge towards water saving in South Africa.
Bosch in turn committed to sponsoring one litre of water for every pledge they received to an animal shelter in Cape Town..
