Mini Footsteps Kindergarten based in Tafelsig hosted a special Women’s Day event on Saturday.
With the aim of bringing the community together and empowering them, residents living in and around Slangkop Crescent were treated for the day.
The event was also attended by local pastors and guest speaker Grizelda Grootboom who advocates for human rights and speaks against human trafficking.
The room was silent as Grootboom shared her story of being trafficked from a young age and her journey to salvation and finding herself and her freedom.
The women were encouraged to be good community workers, reaching further than just their own front doors.
This was followed by refreshments.
