Charity golf day tees of well

THE Tamil Association hosted a successful fundraising golf day at Port Shepstone Country Club last Sunday.

In addition to raising money for mandated temple projects, members of the Tamil Association and Tamil Federation also made a generous donation towards a medical fund aimed at raising money for a young Port Shepstone woman recently diagnosed with stomach cancer.

“Service to mankind is service to God; this is not just words which the Tamil Association lives by, it is what we truly believe,” said chairperson Deena Naidoo.

He said the tournament was well supported by the local golfing community as well as visitors who supported the initiative. “Our golf day was outstandingly supported by businesses and community members.

“We are extremely grateful for the support and true ubuntu spirit,” said Naidoo. Several participants at the golf day finished off with 51 points and Jackie Khawula and Ian Mkhize from Pro Vision Golf and Social Club took first place in the social tournament.
