Oslo park in for a revamp

AFTER several years and complaints from residents about the Oslo Beach Park, it seems calls for much needed refurbishments to the park have finally been heard.

Lazer 911 in collaboration with Ray Nkonyeni Municipality will be installing some security and other upgrades at the Oslo Beach Park.

Basil Lanka from Lazer 911 said the company has already commenced with upgrades and their employees are hard at work.

“We have already started with the cleaning, planting of flora and fauna and CCTV monitoring.

“The next stage of this project will be the fencing, parking, extra ablution blocks, play facilities, seating and braai equipment,” said Lanka.

“To make this a successful project we require the full support from the community in whatever way possible,” said Lanka.

He said this was an ongoing project and business houses’ involvement were welcome.

“We are also involved with the Hope Park and North Road Beach projects as well.

“Our requests also applies to the above as well,” he added.

Ray Nkonyeni Municipality spokesperson Simon April confirmed the collaboration.

“The municipality always advocates for public private partnerships with an aim of development within our communities.

We are happy to say that there is an agreement between RNM and Lazer 911 for the upgrade of the park at Oslo Beach and we wish to indicate that this upgrade will benefit the public,” said April.
