ADVERTORIAL

CHALAZIONS or hordeolums, often called styes, are red bumps that appear along the eyelids.

They are due to blocked oil glands. Rarely, they can become infected, but typically they are swollen without a true infection. These may become tender or cause an irritation in the eye.

They need to be treated medically or drained surgically by an ophthalmologist as they can recur leaving scar tissue.
