1 dead at Stellenbosch train station

Metrorail says its train service between Stellenbosch and Muldersvlei in the Western Cape has been cancelled after one person died on Tuesday.

It was reported that the person died at the Du Toit station in Stellenbosch.

Metrorail spokesperson Riana Scott said the company was waiting to receive 48-hour report on Wednesday to find out how the person died.

Scott said all lines to all stations travelling to Cape town had been reopened but that commuters should expect residual delays of 60 minutes.

Limited bus services operated while the line was closed.
