Sixteen people were injured on Sunday afternoon after a minibus taxi they were travelling in rolled into a swamp.
The incident occurred at around 15:00 on the side of R730 at the Bronville crossing outside Welkom in the Free State, ER24 spokesperson Ross Campbell said.
"ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene at 15:20 to find all the passengers had managed to get out," Campbell said.
At least 14 adults and two children were treated on scene before being transported by paramedics to a nearby hospital.
Campbell said the police and traffic department were also on the scene to investigate the incident.
