Two people have been killed and six others injured in a minibus taxi accident on the R712 between QwaQwa and Clarens in the Free State on Wednesday.
ER24 paramedics and provincial emergency services arrived at the scene and found passengers lying around the vehicle that had rolled down the side of a mountain.
"Two had sustained numerous injuries and showed no signs of life. Unfortunately, nothing could be done for them and they were declared dead by provincial services," ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring said.
The six injured were attended to by paramedics and assessments showed they had sustained injuries ranging from "moderate to serious".
The injured passengers were transported to nearby hospitals for further treatment.
Details surrounding the cause of the accident are still unknown and authorities are investigating.
