Johannesburg - Eight hundred and six people were arrested for various crimes over the past seven days in the North West, police said on Sunday.
"The arrests include [seven] for murder, 150 for assault, 20 for rape, 52 for burglary... 32 for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, 80 for drug related crimes and 25 for possession of suspected stolen goods," Colonel Sabata Mokgwabone said.
Drugs, illegal cigarettes, liquor, as well as 28 cellphones, six vehicles, six firearms and numerous electrical appliances were also seized and recovered.
The arrests happened between 27 July to 3 August.
Some of those arrested had already appeared in courts around the province, while others would appear on Monday.
