Johannesburg - Traffic has been heavily backed up in Fourways on Thursday morning following a shoot-out between a man and police.
The shooting took place after police attempted to pull over a suspicious vehicle at 03:00 on Thursday, Eyewitness News reported.
The police’s Lungelo Dlamini told EWN that police were chasing the Honda from Randburg to Douglasdale when shots were fired. According to website, Fourwaysreview.co.za, the car had been hijacked in Randburg.
The car crashed into palisade fencing on the side of the road and had to be cordoned off. Blood dribbled from the driver’s side of the vehicle.
The driver was wounded and taken to hospital.
