Johannesburg - A man was killed and three other people were injured when a bakkie overturned on a dirt road in Taylor's Halt, Pietermaritzburg on Saturday, paramedics said.
The bakkie was found lying on its roof in a stream next to the road, ER24 spokesperson Werner Vermaak said.
"The man was trapped in the vehicle with his body partially submersed in the water," he said.
He was freed from the bakkie by the local fire department but was later declared dead at the scene.
The occupants of the bakkie were on their way to a funeral when the accident happened.
The three injured people were taken to a nearby clinic.
