Johannesburg - The City of Tshwane is battling with power outages as Valhalla was once again plunged into darkness less than a day after power was restored.
The problem was attributed to overhead cables being stolen.
"The problem in the area started yesterday [Tuesday] when overhead conductors were stolen in two separate locations. However, Tshwane's technicians managed to switch power back on last night," spokesperson Selby Bokaba said in a statement.
"It is very unfortunate that the city's residents must endure the disruption of services as a result of criminal actions."
He said technicians were on site busy with repair work.
"It is anticipated that electricity should be restored by midnight," he said.
Power supply was also interrupted in Eersterust and Murrayfield on Wednesday due to cable faults.
"The residents are currently experiencing a power outage which was caused by multiple cable faults," said Bokaba.
The area was also expected to have power restored by midnight.
