Durban - Sbongiseni Phungula, 25, and Mondli Michael Shozi, 26, were found guilty of the rape, robbery and murder of Roman Catholic nun Gertrud Tiefenbacher at an Ixopo convent.
The gallery was filled with Sister Tiefenbacher’s fellow nuns from the Sacred Heart convent, who have attended every appearance by the nun’s killers.

“We want the Lord to touch them and they are the recipients of a lot of praying from all corners. We will keep them in our prayers.”
“In their statements, they admitted only that they 'foresaw that covering her mouth and nose may result in death' and reconciled themselves to that.”
“I know my actions were reprehensible,” said Shozi, while Phungula stated, “I wish I could undo what I have done”.
"Sister Gerald Frye from the convent, said she hoped that in the service of justice, Jesus would touch the hearts of Phungula and Shozi."
