According to reports, riot police have been deployed to the area to back up the local police.
eNCA said that protesters have ripped traffic lights from the ground and have burned down at least three municipal buildings.
Police spokesperson Malcolm Pojie told eNCA that police
have used stun grenades, tear gas and rubber bullets to disperse the crowd
since Sunday.
