All Nike stores reopened countrywide on Thursday after the fallout from a racist video that went viral on social media.
"Everything is back to normal today in all stores across the country," said Nike SA communications manager Fareed Mohammed.
Nike closed it stores on Wednesday after a video went viral in which South African man, Adam Catzavelos, recorded himself at a holiday spot in Greece saying: "Not one k****r in sight. F*cking heaven on earth… You cannot beat this!"
Catzavelos' wife is reportedly an employee at Nike.
When asked about the loss incurred by the temporary shutdown on Wednesday, Nike said it wasn't able to comment yet.
"We do not have the exact numbers yet," Mohammed told News24.
In a statement released on Wednesday, Nike condemned Catzavelos' actions.
"Nike opposes discrimination and has a long-standing commitment to diversity, inclusion and respect. We believe in the power of human potential in everyone – of every race, religion, nationality, gender and sexual orientation. We can also confirm that Adam Catzavelos is not a Nike employee," the company said.
