Arrests imminent in two Kliptown cop killings

Johannesburg – An investigation is underway into the killing of two police officers in Kliptown between April 15 and 17.

Police spokesperson for the Soweto East Cluster, Captain Hitler Ngwenya, said while arrests have yet to be made, he believed this would happen soon.

The first of the two slain officers was shot on April 15 in Moroka while off-duty by an unidentified suspect.

He was rushed to hospital, but was declared dead on arrival.

The other officer was wounded with an unknown object in his upper body while at a friend’s house.
