The national Department of Health has recorded a further 28 Covid-19-related deaths, bringing the toll to 397.
As of Friday, the country has 20 125 confirmed cases of the coronavirus.
The Western Cape remains the province with the highest number of positive cases at 12 888, followed by Gauteng with 2 521 and the Eastern Cape with 2 459.
Remaining provincial breakdown:
Free State: 185 cases.
KwaZulu-Natal: 1 735.
Limpopo: 120.
Mpumalanga: 98.
North West: 80.
Northern Cape: 39.
According to the department, 543 032 tests have been conducted to date, of which 17 599 were conducted in the last 24-hour cycle.
Of the tests conducted, 49% (266 108) were conducted in the private sector, while 51% (276 924) were done in the public sector.

In addition, 10 104 recoveries have been recorded to date.
The Western Cape has recorded 6 126 recoveries with 257 deaths, followed by Gauteng with 1 776 recoveries and 29 deaths and the Eastern Cape with 1 036 recoveries and 53 deaths.
Remaining recovery provincial breakdown:
Free State: 121 recoveries and six deaths.
KwaZulu-Natal: 880 recoveries and 47 deaths.
Limpopo: 51 recoveries and three deaths.
Mpumalanga: 58 recoveries.
North West: 29 recoveries and one death.
Northern Cape: 27 recoveries and one death.
