The driver of a BMW X5 SUV died after his vehicle crashed through a boundary fence of a home in the Sunningdale area in Durban on Saturday morning.
Crisis Medical spokesperson, Kyle van Reenen, said emergency services responded to the scene around 04:20 on Saturday.
"Reports from the scene indicate that the driver lost control of the vehicle on Umhlanga Rocks Drive, causing the BMW to careen off the roadway, rolling several times before smashing through the wall of the Blossom Close home and coming to a rest on its roof," he said.
Van Reenen said the driver sustained injuries to his head, and there was nothing paramedics could do to assist him. He was declared dead on the scene.
Van Reenen said the home owners escaped injury.
Police were investigating the cause of the accident.
