A man has been arrested for allegedly raping his biological daughter. The 17-year-old alleges that her father raped her at one of the farms in Dannhauser, Northern KwaZulu-Natal.
She claims incidents happened between April 2017 and July 2018, says KZN SAPS spokesperson, Colonel Thembeka Mbhele.
“The victim alleged that she was raped by her father several times when she went to his home to fetch money as [he was] not staying together with the victim’s mother,” explains Mbhele.
However, the mother started to notice suspicious changes in the her daughter’s behaviour.
“When questioned, she told her mother that she had been raped by her father,” Mbhele adds.
The Newcastle Advertiser further reports that the girl is pregnant as a result of the rape.
A case of rape was opened at Dannhauser Police Station and the 41-year-old father was arrested. The accused appeared in the Dannhauser Magistrates Court this week.
