Police in KwaZulu-Natal have arrested two 28-year-old men posing as police officers, after Inanda residents managed to apprehend them.
Police spokesperson Captain Nqobile Gwala said the men, dressed in police uniforms, had forced themselves into a home in Machobeni in the early hours of Monday morning.
"They informed the occupants they were searching for drugs. They allegedly searched the house and stole snacks, as well as an undisclosed amount of cash."

Gwala said that, during the ordeal, the residents began to realise that the men were not actual police officers.
"They screamed for help. With the assistance of their neighbours, the suspects were apprehended. Police were alerted and suspects were immediately detained. Both men will be profiled to determine if they are involved in any other similar incidents."
She said the men had been charged with impersonating police officers and would appear in the Ntuzuma Magistrate's Court on August 15.
