Dutywa – The husband of a woman found stabbed to death in her home near Dutywa on Wednesday morning has been arrested for her murder, Eastern Cape police said.
Police were called to the couple’s house at Mpuku, in Chizela village, in the early hours of the morning after the suspect phoned his brother and told him what had ostensibly happened, Captain Jackson Manatha said.
"The man’s brother then phoned us and members found his wife in the house. She had multiple knife injuries to her upper body," he said.
The couple had a three-year-old child, who was in the house at the time of the murder. It is believed the child was asleep when the murder happened.
The suspect, 28, is expected to appear in the Dutywa Magistrate’s Court on Friday.
