Man stabbed on beach in attempted robbery

Amanzimtoti - A 46-year-old man was stabbed on the Winklespruit beach in Amanzimtoti on Friday night in an attempted robbery.

ER24 spokesperson, Annine Siddall, said paramedics had found the man had stab wounds to his chest and arm when they responded to the incident at around 20:00 on Friday evening.

"It is believed that the man was alone at the time he was approached by an unknown man who had a knife," said Siddall.

Siddall said the man had been attacked and had sustained moderate injuries. He was transported to Prince Mshiyeni Regional Hospital for further medical care.

Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
