Monday's weather: High fire danger conditions predicted in the Northern Cape

Extremely high fire danger conditions are expected over the northern and western interior of the Northern Cape, according to the SA Weather Service.

The weather in your region

In Gauteng, expect partly cloudy conditions in the south at first, otherwise fine and warm.

Expect morning fog patches along the escarpment in Mpumalanga, otherwise partly cloudy and cool to warm.

In Limpopo, expect morning fog patches along the escarpment, otherwise partly cloudy and warm.

The North West will be fine and warm to hot, becoming partly cloudy in places in the afternoon.

The Free State will be fine and warm but partly cloudy in the east in the morning.

Expect cool weather conditions along the coast in the Northern Cape, where it will be cloudy with fog at first, otherwise fine and hot but very hot in places over the western and northern interior. It will become partly cloudy in places in the east during the afternoon.

In the Western Cape, expect cloudy conditions with fog along the west and south coast at first, otherwise fine and warm to hot, but partly cloudy in the north-east in the afternoon and along the south coast in the evening. It will be very hot in places over the central and eastern interior. The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh easterly in the south, otherwise fresh to strong south-easterly.

The western half of the Eastern Cape will be cloudy in places at first with mist patches, otherwise fine and warm to hot. The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh easterly to north-easterly.

The eastern half of the Eastern Cape will be fine and warm, with morning and evening fog in places south of the escarpment. The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh north-easterly.

KwaZulu-Natal will be fine in places during the day, otherwise partly cloudy and warm with rain and isolated showers along the north coast and adjacent interior. The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh southerly to south-westerly, becoming south-easterly in the afternoon.
