Police investigate after Cape Town man dies of multiple gunshot wounds

Police are investigating the murder of a 42-year-old man who was shot dead in Belhar, Cape Town, on Wednesday.

Police spokesperson Sergeant Noloyiso Rwexana said that the man was shot at 16:30 on Chestnut Road.

"According to reports a 42-year-old man... sustained multiple gunshot wounds to his body. SAPS detectives are following up on leads to bring those involved to book," she said.

In February, News24 reported that a 22-year-old man was shot in the same area in a possible gang-related shooting. However, this could not be confirmed by the police.

Anyone with information about the shooting should contact Crime Stop on 08600 10111.
