Suspected suicide at Michelangelo Towers in Sandton

Gauteng - A 51-year-old man is believed to have committed suicide earlier on Saturday after having jumped from the 23 floor of the Michelangelo Towers in Sandton on Saturday morning.

Police spokesperson, Captain Kay Makhubele confirmed the incident, saying the man had died instantly after plummeting to the ground shortly after 11:00 on Saturday.

According to one eye witness, Khutali, who took to twitter, the man had first hit a glass awning, before hitting into the back of a motor vehicle.

"The motive behind the incident is unknown and the police are investigating," Makhubele said.
