Weather Update: Extremely high fire danger for West Coast

Extremely high fire danger conditions are expected over the Namakwa district and the northern interior of the West Coast district on Wednesday.


Isolated showers are expected for the eastern to south-eastern parts of KwaZulu-Natal (KZN), and the eastern tip of Mpumalanga.

Heavy rains are then predicted for the north-eastern parts of KZN.

The rest of the country will remain dry.


Minimum temperatures are expected to cool across most parts of South Africa, with warmer conditions predicted along the East Coast.

The coldest places in South Africa are expected to be Sutherland in the Northern Cape and Queenstown in the Eastern Cape, dropping to a freezing 0°C.

Maximum temperatures are expected to be cool across most of South Africa, with warm conditions along the East Coast, West Coast and the southern coastline.

The hottest place in South Africa will be Vredendal in the Western Cape reaching a high of 33°C.

Pretoria is expected to experience a maximum of 22°C, while Johannesburg is expected to have a high of 19°C. A high of 20°C is predicted for Bloemfontein.

Along the coastal regions, Cape Town will reach 26°C and Port Elizabeth is expected to reach 22°C, while Durban will reach 24°C.
