Weather Update: Rainfall for the east, moderate conditions across most of SA

Rainfall continues in the east and parts of the southern coastline, while the rest of the country can expect cool to moderate conditions on Wednesday.

Rain

Isolated showers and thundershowers can be expected in the northeastern parts of the Free State, the Eastern Cape and KwaZulu-Natal.

Rain and showers can also be expected in Limpopo and Mpumalanga from the afternoon.

Temperatures 

Minimum temperatures are expected to be cool to moderate across the country, while the Little Karoo and the eastern highveld should be cold.

Sutherland in the Northern Cape will be one of the coldest places, dropping to 2°C.

Maximum temperatures are expected to be cool across the southern half of the country, including much of the east, with cold weather is predicted for the eastern parts of the Eastern Cape.

Warm weather is predicted for the northern half of the country, including the northwestern parts of the Western Cape and the northwestern parts of the Free State.

Hot weather conditions are expected in parts along the northern border.

Lephalale is Limpopo will be one of the hottest places, with an expected maximum temperature of 36°C.

In Gauteng, Pretoria will reach a high of 28°C, while Johannesburg will hit 27°C.

Bloemfontein is expected to reach a high of 26°C.

Along the coast, Cape Town is expected to reach a high of 23°C, while Port Elizabeth and Durban are likely to hit a maximum of 18°C.
