Warnings
Extremely high fire danger conditions are expected in the central and eastern parts of the Northern Cape, in the Central Karoo of the Western Cape, the western and central parts of Free State and the western parts of the North West.
Special weather advisories
Heatwave conditions with persistently high temperatures are expected in the eastern parts of the Northern Cape, the Free State, the North West, the northern parts of the Eastern Cape, the western parts of KwaZulu-Natal (KZN), the western parts of Mpumalanga and Gauteng until Friday.
Rain
Isolated showers and thundershowers are expected over the Highveld region of Mpumalanga, the south-western parts of Limpopo. Isolated afternoon showers are expected in the western parts of KZN.
Temperatures
Minimum temperatures are expected to be warm across the country, with cooler conditions in parts of the Northern Cape.
Sutherland in the Northern Cape is expected to be one of the coldest places, with an expected minimum temperature of 7°C.
Maximum temperatures are expected to be cool along the southern coastline and adjacent interior, while warm conditions can be expected along the West Coast and adjacent interior.
Hot to very hot weather has been predicted for the rest of the country.
Upington in the Northern Cape and Potchefstroom in the North West are expected to be two of the hottest places, with a blazing 39°C.

In Gauteng, Pretoria will reach a high of 36°C while Johannesburg will reach a high of 34°C.
Bloemfontein will reach a high of 37°C.
Along the coast, Cape Town will reach a high of 25°C, while Port Elizabeth is expected to reach a high of 24°C and Durban a high of 26°C.
