Rain and increased temperatures are expected over most of the eastern parts of the country, while temperatures continue to rise in the north over the weekend.
Warnings
High seas, with wave heights of six to nine metres, are expected between Cape Columbine and Port Alfred, spreading towards Port Edward.
Extreme high fire danger is expected in the extreme northern parts of both the North West and Northern Cape.
Watches
Severe thunderstorms are expected over the southern parts of Mpumalanga and northern KwaZulu-Natal (KZN).
Rain
Isolated showers and thundershowers can be expected in the western parts of the North West, the north-eastern parts of the Northern Cape, the south-eastern parts of the Free State, the northern parts of KZN, and the eastern parts of the Eastern Cape.
Afternoon showers and thundershowers can be expected in Mpumalanga from late afternoon, but are expected to be scattered in the extreme south.
Temperatures
Minimum temperatures are expected to be cool to cold across the central and south-western parts of the country, with rising temperatures in the north.
Sutherland in the Northern Cape is expected to be one of the coldest places, dropping to a below-freezing -1°C.
Maximum temperatures remain cool along the coastline and warmer weather is expected over the central interior, including the Highveld region.
Hot weather conditions are predicted for the northern border as well as the northern parts of the Northern Cape.
A few places in the North West are expected to experience a high of 32°C.

Pretoria and Bloemfontein are expected to reach a high of 29°C, while Johannesburg is expected to reach a high of 27°C, and Bloemfontein a high of 26°C
Along the coast, Cape Town is expected to reach a high of 17°C, while Port Elizabeth is expected to reach a high of 20°C and Durban a high of 22°C.
