South Africans have been living in lockdown for some 11 days now, with the humdrum of everyday life replaced by a new, more uncertain future.
But while the country has been ordered to stay home, documentary photographer Joshua Rubin has been out and about in Cape Town capturing serene visuals of its sleepy streets using a drone.
"I wanted show nature taking a breath of fresh air and regaining its strength back, while incorporating the emptiness of the streets," Rubin told News24.
He began capturing scenes in Blouberg, Hout Bay, the CBD and surrounds since the start of the lockdown at midnight on 26 March.

Rubin said the forest on the road to Hout Bay was probably one of his favourite places in Cape Town, adding filming the sunset at Camps Bay was "so beautiful".
"I don't usually go to Camps Bay but to be there, with no people around, was absolutely spectacular."
Rubin said the lockdown had been mentally challenging, especially with his anxiety but he was happy to be on the frontline of history.
"I am happy to be documenting this. It is history happening."
