"Our people shouldn't have to travel for hours and hours to work." That was the message from President Cyril Ramaphosa at the launch of the Atlantis Special Economic Zone in Cape Town on Thursday.

The economic hub houses companies specialising in green technologies, alternative waste management and alternative building material.

Ramaphosa joined by Minister of Trade and Industry Rob Davies on a guided tour of one of the factories in the area.

Western Cape Premier Helen Zille said she hoped to see the Western Cape as a leading green economic hub on the African continent.
