Twenty nineteen is off to a flying start, from Bosasa and the endless inquiries to Solly Msimanga stepping down as Tshwane mayor and electioneering getting into full swing.

This week on POLOTIKI, we discuss former president Jacob Zuma's legacy, among other news that made headlines this week.

President Cyril Ramaphosa spoke out about South Africa's "nine lost years" at a dinner in Davos last week, and Zuma hit back via Twitter.

In his tweet, the former president listed some of his achievements since his term began in 2007, including free tertiary education, HIV/Aids treatment programmes, subsidised housing for the poor, and increasing access to electricity, sanitation and piped water.

"Our social grants programme was broadened to 17 million – a buffer against disaster for so many of our people," he said.

Meanwhile, former North West ANC chairperson Supra Mahumapelo pleaded with ANC leaders to stop debating Zuma's legacy in public.

He was speaking on the sidelines of his court case, lodged to challenge the party's decision to disband the North West provincial executive committee (PEC). Listen.

News24 senior politics reporter Tshidi Madia also talks to News24 associate editor for fast news Sheldon Morais about former Bosasa chief operations officer Angelo Agrizzi. Has he gone from hero to villain?

ANALYSIS | Agrizzi: Does the truth lurk behind the bombshells and racism?
