Late poet laureate Kgositsile helped shape hip hop culture

Professor Keorapetse William "Bra Willie" Kgositsile died in Milpark Hospital in Johannesburg earlier this month after undergoing surgery for circulatory problems.

He is well know for his political activism, and works in poetry collections such as My Name is Afrika, and Spirits Unchained.

Professor Kgositsile was also a recipient of the National Order of Ikhamanga for his contribution to the field of literature.
