New footage of the crashed BMW on the N1 in Cape Town has emerged on social media, this time showing the aftermath of the incident.
The City of Cape Town said it was "appalled" by the video.
News24 reported on Monday that the driver of the BMW, who lost control of his vehicle and crashed on the N1 in Century City in an apparent "street race", was in a critical condition.
In the video, the car can be seen changing lanes at high speed, before it crashes into the centre median.
Several people captured footage of the incident from an overhead bridge.

Serious injuries
ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring said in a statement that ER24 paramedics found the 26-year-old driver and took him to the hospital in the early hours of Monday.
"On assessment, paramedics found that the man had sustained serious injuries to his legs and head, leaving him in a critical condition," he said.
Mayoral committee member for safety and security JP Smith said: "The incident is just the latest example of the devastation wrought by illegal street racers on our streets. What is equally concerning, is the group of people gathered on the overpass who were filming the incident."
"Fortunately, this time, no other persons were hurt, but there have been plenty of cases before where innocent persons have paid with their lives because of the recklessness and arrogance of others."
Brazen tactics
He mentioned another hair-raising incident in which members of the "Ghost Squad" (so named for its use of unmarked vehicles) pursued a vehicle on the N2 outgoing at speeds of nearly 200km/h on Sunday.
"The driver refused to stop and, to the officer's amazement, swapped seats with his passenger in mid-pursuit. Only then did the vehicle pull over. The original driver was arrested on charges of reckless and negligent driving and drunken driving. Both he and the passenger were also charged with defeating the ends of justice," he said.
123 people arrested
"The continued lawlessness on our roads is downright disappointing. The Cape Town Traffic Service has arrested 123 suspects in the last week and issued 1 793 fines for various offences."
Of these, 92 were for driving under the influence of alcohol. Twenty-one had outstanding warrants and the rest were caught for reckless and negligent driving, fraud and defeating the ends of justice.
