Enterprising Joburgers came to the rescue of stranded pedestrians who wanted to cross a flooded street near the Noord Street taxi rank. Watch.
A viral video on social media shows trolley pushers ferrying people between pavements, after heavy rains flooded the streets and left pedestrians stranded.
But, there's no such thing as a free trip. So, the entrepreneurial trolley pushers charged a fee for their services. Customers can be seen handing over small change in the video.
Social media users have applauded the inventiveness.
[They] ... found a gap in the market. True entrepreneurship," Patyutyu Papi commented on the video.
