A bumper sardine run is underway off the coast of KwaZulu-Natal.
The KwaZulu-Natal Sharks Board says this year's spectacle is markedly different to those seen in past years.
"I've been in the business for over 40 years, and I can tell you that it's a truly exceptional and phenomenal year," said Mike Anderson-Reade, head of operations at the KZN Sharks Board.
"We haven't witnessed this for ages. It's a spectacle to see with hundreds of sharks following the shoals," he added.
